Confined Space Entry

Duration: 2 days

Description:
The Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Section 511 (3), states that a worker shall not work in a confined space unless he or she has completed a confined space entry program prescribed by the Commission (WHSCC).  Upon successful completion of this course, the worker will be able to:

  • Define a Confined Space
  • Discuss the Importance of Confined Space Entry Training
  • Identify Confined Space Entry Legislation
  • Identify the Elements of a Confined Space Program Including the Roles and Responsibilities of Workplace Parties
  • Discuss Workplace Hazard Control Programs
  • Identify Potential Confined Space Hazards (Health/Safety)
  • Identify Types of Respiratory Protection Used in Confined Spaces
  • Discuss Confined Space Rescue Requirements
  • Identify Confined Space Entry Procedures
  • Identify Accident Incident Reporting and Investigation Procedures
